Women’s role in development stressed
Islamabad: Women have a pivotal role in national progress and development and therefore, utmost attention should be given for their welfare, said Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation Deputy Mayor Syed Zeeshan Ali.
During the prize distribution ceremony of the Cultural Week and Sports Gala 2017-18 at the Women's Campus of the International Islamic University (IIU), the deputy mayor also called upon universities to act as nurseries for both sportsmen and sportswomen. He congratulated the IIU administration and faculty and students for organising such healthy activities. He said promotion of sports in educational institutions would provide a bright future for students. IIU president Ahmed Yousef Al Draiweesh said the success of cultural week had showed the university was among the leading international varsities.
