ISLAMABAD: Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister Hikmat Khalil Karzai called on Aftab Ahmed Sherpao, Chairman Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) and the Convener of Pak Afghan Friendship Group in the Parliament.

They discussed Pak Afghan relationship and the current new framework of peace and bilateral engagement, which has become operational since yesterday. Both sides hoped that it would contribute in promoting peace in the region.

Aftab Ahmed Sherpao said that this initiative of Afghanistan Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS), which was taken by Pakistan Prime Minister when he visited Afghanistan, would help in creating cordial relationship between both the countries and welcome it. He said that these seven points would help in many spheres and hopefully bring peace in the region.

Sherpao emphasized that dialogue between the two countries must be pursed at all levels so as to dispel the mistrust and misgivings between the two countries. “Joint economic cooperation between both the countries is a necessary ingredient, which should be pursued,” he said.
