Traffic jams create trouble for motorists

Rawalpindi : Motorists faced difficulties on roads in city and cantonment board localities as they remained stuck in traffic jams. Worst kind of traffic blockages were witnessed on Murree Road, Jhelum Road, Mall Road, Airport Road, Kutcherry Road, Rawal Road, Railway Road and Adiala Road could be seen all day on Tuesday as even ambulances and prisoner vans could not move.

On duty Senior Traffic Warden Muhammad Bilal Shaikh deputed here at Adiala Road told ‘The News’ that motorists facing hell like situation due to unnecessary routes. Secondly, we are handling whole situation manually because majority of traffic signals are out of order, he said.

Another senior traffic warden, Ali Imran, deputed at Kutcherry Chowk said that unnecessary routes are the major reason of traffic blockages. Motorists face traffic blockages for hours after a route, he said.

The motorists tried to use different alternative routes like Rawal Road and Saidpur Road to reach their destinations but failed to do so. Samina Waqar, a l motorist here at Murree Road said that they are waiting for several hours to reach their home, but in vain.
