Defence minister Khurram Dastagir has said that “[the] PML-N government made impossible things possible”. I would like to remind the minister that there was one project which was possible but it was made impossible by the incumbent government. I am talking about the power sector. The fact is that the existing installed power generation units are enough to meet our total requirement of electricity. However, the power generated by these units does not reach the end consumer in totality as most of it is lost en route due to various reasons including line losses, non recovery of dues and power theft.
This is nothing but a reflection of the sheer incompetence and mismanagement of government functionaries who have turned possible into impossible. Because of this, the menace of loadshedding has become a routine affair and it is the common citizen who continues to suffer. Let us hope that the new government will make these possible projects viable and turn other impossible ones to possible and put the country on the road to prosperity.
