Despite the current government’s tall claims of overcoming the menace of load shedding, the problem continues to persist across the country. Leaving aside rural Punjab, even the city of Lahore and its outskirts have been facing continuous announced and unannounced power cuts. What has added to peoples’ misery are perpetual voltage fluctuations. There is no house left that has not had its electronic appliances either damaged or completely destroyed. While most of the people are already not in a position to buy stabilizers, that too for all appliances, they have to bear the repair expenses themselves.
Moreover, all protests have gone unnoticed. These power breakdowns and fluctuations are a failure on the part of LESCO, and the concerned authorities need to keep a check on the utility.
