Provincial Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheed ud Din has said that women are playing an active role in the development of the country.
She said that according to the vision of the chief minister, the government is taking practical steps for the welfare of women. She expressed these views while addressing a function for a day care centre under the aegis of Provincial Women Development Department at Government Degree College for Women Bilal Ganj here on Friday.
Principal Dr. Naima Khursheed, Director Women Department Sajid Tirmizi and teachers were also present. Hameeda said the government had taken various practical steps for the welfare of women after the establishment of Women Development Department and Women Package 2012 had been completely implemented while work continued on Women Package 2014. She said the government was setting up working women hostels and day care centres in different institutions for working women. Moreover, the Harassment Act is being amended for ensuring protection to working women, she added. Later, the minister inaugurated the first day care centre set up for the children of teachers and staff of the college.
