Residents of twin cities gearing up for Ramazan
Islamabad : Ramazan with just a week away, the residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad are gearing up for Ramazan shopping and rationing the goods for the holy month.
This year again, the holy month is coming in the peak months of summer so the people are buying ration keeping this in mind. A visit to local stores revealed that they are offering different Ramazan packages of varied prices so that the people can benefit from.
Subhana Mansoor, while talking to this scribe said this month would be real tough for us as well as for the students too as they are appearing for the exams before vacations. Nonetheless, loadshedding would be adding to their woes.
Shazia Tanveer, a housewife while speaking to this scribe said that a week before Ramazan is her busiest week, because in this week she prepare frozen frying items and stack them in her freezer for saving some time before ‘Iftaar’.
The local markets as well as super stores have stacked up a separate section for Ramazan items especially drinks, dates, grocery with discounted prizes. ‘Sasta’ bazaars are also very popular bazaars available to public on discounted prices. Now it’s the responsibility of the government to keep a strict check on the prices so that every household can benefit from them.
Many philanthropists, organisations and social welfare organisations distribute rations and hold ‘iftaars’ for public on specific spots so that many can benefit from them.
Many affluent families distribute rations and Ramazan packages to needy and deserving people so that there are no extra burden on the poor people. Charity increases in manifold in the month of Ramazan because everyone wants to reap the benefits of the holy month.
