The Sindh Rangers on Sunday claimed to have arrested 11 suspects, including target killers, during the paramilitary force’s targeted operations in different parts of the city.
A Rangers spokesman said seven of the suspects were arrested during intelligence-based targeted raids in Manghopir, Iqbal Market, Ittehad Town, Madina Colony, Baldia Town and Korangi. They were accused of target killings, extortion, land grabbing, dacoities, street crime, drug peddling and other heinous crimes.
They were identified as Faisal Sharif, alias Kalu; Asif Khursheed, alias Kala Bandar; Sohail Ahmed; Abdul Rehman, alias Baba Tanki; Mohammad Adnan; Abdul Rasheed Ansari, alias Mamo, of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London and Asif Siddiq Qureshi, alias Ranghar, of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi.
During a raid in Gulberg, the Rangers arrested Mohammad Noman for his alleged involvement in street crime. They also arrested Mohammad Shafiq, Shaukat and Hidayatullah Khan from Gulberg, Brigade and Saddar areas allegedly for drug pushing and operating drug dens.
The paramilitary force seized weapons, looted items and narcotics from the possession of the arrested men, who were later handed over to the police for further legal proceedings, said the spokesman.
