Our society is sharply divided into the haves and have-nots. According to some media reports, almost 60.3 percent of the Pakistani people are surviving on less than $2 a day. Poor people are deprived of basic facilities and fundamental rights. The underprivileged cannot gain access to quality education as our education system is not centralised.
Government schools are outdated and obsolete to the extent that graduates from the poor class are not at par with graduates of private school and, therefore, cannot match the attributes of the latter. In a state where corruption is prevalent, laws always adversely affect the poor. The gap between the poor and the rich can be narrowed by introducing reforms in the education system and safeguarding the rights of the downtrodden.
