LAHORE:The city is abuzz with posters, banners and advertisements of the upcoming rally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf scheduled to take place at Minar-e-Pakistan on April 29, 2018.
The banners, steamers, posters and billboards of PTI regarding its really are displayed on almost every main road of the city. The Mall, Canal Bank Road, Ravi Road, Azadi Flyover, Bund Road, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Allama Iqbal Town, Garhi Shahu, Zaman Park, Ferozepur Road, Gulberg, Mozang, Samanabad, Faisal Town, Johar Town were some of the locations where the posters, steamers and banners were displayed.
A senior official of Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) said that no official permission had been sought from the PHA for display of the posters, banners, steamers and other advertisement stuff. He said PHA would start removing the material from every road on Friday morning.
On the other hand, a spokesman for the City District Government said that no permission was given to PTI to hold rally at Minar-e-Pakistan. He said the CDG had offered PTI to hold its public gathering at Nasser Bagh.
Citizens said the activity showed the PTI was all prepared to hold the upcoming event at the controversial venue. They said the rally, if goes successful, could be a game changer for Lahore’s domestic politics in the upcoming general elections.
