Faizabad dharna report case: IHC asks deputy attorney general to submit reply
ISLAMABAD: Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) here on Wednesday while hearing into a petition seeking to public the inquiry report of Fiazabad dharna case directed a deputy attorney general (DAG) to submit reply and put off hearing till first week of May.
IHC bench was hearing into the writ petition of Inamul Rahiem advocate who has been seeking to public the inquiry report of Faizabad dharna. Justice Siddiqui while addressing the counsel said that the report was sealed at the orders of this court. At which counsel replied that the report is not pertaining to any sensitive information and it is about the dharna protesters. This should get public. At this Justice Siddiqui said that already six references are being filed against him in the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), and he wanted to get seventh reference filed. At this counsel replied that entire legal fraternity knew who is behind those references.
Separately, in another matter an IHC larger bench would announce judgment in federal minister for foreign affairs Khawaja Asif’s disqualification case here on Thursday.
Three-member larger bench headed by Justice Athar Minallah reserved judgment on April 10 where a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf member from Sialkot, Usman Dar has been seeking disqualification of Khawaja Asif due to an Abu Dhabi Iqama and allegedly concealing assets. Usman Dar was an opposing candidate of Khawaja Asif in 2013 general elections.
