PTI musters public support for rally

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has arranged camps on five spots to mobilise masses for Lahore public meeting scheduled for April 29.

According to a press release issued Tuesday, thousands of workers have so far participated in mobilisation campaign and local leaders are monitoring the mass contact camps.

PTI Senator Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said the rulers are inviting political death by placing obstacles on way to Minar-e-Pakistan public meeting because people stand with Imran Khan. People will bury the politics of corruption of the PML-N.

He said the PTI will win elections and Imran Khan will become Prime Minister of Pakistan. In general elections, whole Punjab, including Lahore, will prove fortress of PTI, said the PTI leader, adding corrupt rulers will have to be in prisons. This is noteworthy that due to busy schedule of Imran Khan, he returned to Islamabad and Senator Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, on the instructions of the party chairman visited five camps, Bhati Gate, Mochi Gate, Delhi Gate, Sherawala Gate and Shah Alam Gate in absence of Imran Khan.

A group of political workers from different districts of Punjab announced joining the PTI.Shah Mehmood Qureshi, PTI Vice-Chairman while welcoming to the newcomers to the party fold stated that future belonged to PTI which would play its role to bring about a change in the country.

UOE seminar: University of Education (UOE) organised a seminar “Strengthening Students Societies in University Campuses” at its Bank Road Campus on Tuesday. Addressing the sminar, Vice-Chancellor Dr Rauf-i-Azam said the basic aim of establishing students’ societies in universities was to promote cultural, religious and ethnic harmony among them. He said to encourage the co-curricular activities in educational institutions was the need of the hour in order to make Pakistan a peaceful and prosperous country.

Dr Rauf said we should provide opportunities to the students so they could demonstrate their ideas and innovations. While lamenting on the present state of affairs of the country regarding religious and ethnic extremism, he said we can curb the menace of extremism by promoting literature, music, arts and games in universities. He appreciated the efforts of Students Affairs Director Dr Muhammad Umer Saleem for establishing and strengthening the student’s societies at the various universities in Punjab.

Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Chairman Dr Nizam-ud-Din said the recently established student societies in different universities of Punjab were playing vital role in the promotion of peace and harmony in the society. At the end, musical instruments were distributed among the students of various universities.
