This refers to the article ‘Myth of technocratic utopia’ (Apr 24) by Mosharraf Zaidi. In our country, certain vested interests have been advocating an exaggerated narrative against the democratic process. Even some of the most dedicated and relatively honest politicians have not been spared. Everyone in this field is projected as a self-serving opportunist. Those who monitor the public opinion on politics have been indicating awareness among people and more inclination towards a sincere and competent leadership.
We would indeed witness better things provided that the democratic process is allowed to run smoothly. Politicians have their fingers on the pulse of people and this is the only way to take a country forward. Technocrats are already serving the nation to the best of their abilities in their own sphere of expertise.
