Pakistan clinch Asian U-12 Tennis opener

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan outplay Sri Lanka 3-0 to win the opening match of the South Asian Under-12 Tennis in Kathmandu (Nepal) Monday. Former renowned Davis Cup player Rashid Malik who is coaching the team told The News from Nepal that Pakistan juniors played brilliant tennis to outwit Sri Lanka team. Both Hamid Israr and M. Huzaifa Khan won their matches easily. Pakistan also won doubles.
Result: Hamid Israr Khan bt Vichinth Nilaweera 6-1,6-4; M. Huzaifa Khan bt Lisal Goonetileke 6-4, 6-3; Hamid Israr/ Bilal Asim bt Vichinth Nilaweera/ Lisal Goonetileke 6-7, 3-0 (rtd.).
