Ulema to oppose drive against institutions, conspiracies against Khatm-e-Nabuwwat

LAHORE: Ulema on Monday unanimously resolved to oppose any campaign against the state institutions, including judiciary, the armed forces and the parliament. At the ‘3rd International Message of Islam Conference’, held here at Aiwan-e-Iqbal under the aegis of Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC), the religious leaders also vowed to thwart conspiracies against Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (the Finality of Prophethood), as it was the basis of every Muslim’s faith.

PUC Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Ashrafi chaired the conference while Al-Sheikh Talal Al-Aqeel, Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs, Saudi Arabia, was the chief guest.

Dignitaries and ambassadors of different Islamic countries, religious scholars, clerics and Mashaykh from all over Muslim world and Pakistan, including Al-Sheikh Dr Rashid Al-Zahrani, Palestine’s Acting Qazi-ul-Qaza Justice Victor Mehmood, President International Islamic University Dr Ahmed Yusuf Al-Darvesh, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Al-Maliky, Dr Abida Hussain and Islamic Ideology Council Chairman Dr Qibla Ayaz attended the conference.

Different resolutions were adopted by the conference, in which the participants urged the government to make Raja Zafarul Haq report public and punish the responsible. The Ulema asked the government to ban publication and circulation of Qadiyani literature, besides including a column pertaining to ‘Belief in the Finality of Prophethood’ in the visa forms for Hajj and Umrah as Qadiyani head Mirza Masroor had instructed Ahmedis to visit Makkah Mukkarma and Madina Munawara to create conflict in Harmain Al-Sharifain.

The conference urged the political and religious leadership to play their effective role in resolving basic problems of the people. The Ulema also passed a resolution asking the government to lift a ban on the registration of new seminaries and mosques, and remove names of innocent political and religious representatives from the 4th Schedule. They called upon the Chief Justice of Pakistan to restore security of all political and religious leaders facing serious security threats.

Addressing the conference, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Saeed Al-Maliky said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were tied in an eternal relation of friendship. He said Pakistanis had great respect and honour for Harmain Al-Sharifain.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was the centre of unity for the Muslims world over. King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Ameer Muhammad bin Salman wanted unity among the Muslim Ummah and there was no change in the stance of Saudi Arabia on the issue of Palestine, he added.

A joint declaration was also passed at the close of the conference, according to which it was decided to form ''World Islamic Ideological Alliance'' against prevailing foreign interference in the affairs of Muslim countries, specifically in the Arab world and carry out worldwide movement for annihilation of terrorism, extremism and sectarian violence.

The Ulema also resolved for the security and sanctity of Harmain Al-Sharifain and observe Jumatul Wida as Youm-e-Tahafuz-e-Harmain Al-Sharifain, Al-Aqsa. It demanded the government ensure implementation of Paigham-e-Pakistan with necessary amendments by seeking arrangements for protection of non-Muslim communities in the country.

The conference declared Khadim-e-Harmain Al-Sharifain Shah Salman bin Abdul Aziz as the most favourite personality of Islamic World for the year 2017 for his services to the cause of Islamic world and raising voice on the issue of Palestine.

The joint declaration opposed the relocation of US Embassy in Jerusalem, adding that an independent and autonomous Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital was acceptable to the Muslim Ummah.

It endorsed the decisions of Arab League’s 29th Summit on the issue of Palestine. It said the world peace would be jeopardised if the rebels attacked pilgrims in Baitullah (Ka’aba).

It welcomed the decision of Pakistan Force for initiating Consultative and Training Mission between forces of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, urging people of Pakistan and the armed forces to assist Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in protecting the holy places of the Muslims.

It announced its unconditional support to the cause of the oppressed Syrians, Palestinians and Kashmiris, urging the world leadership to take action against state terrorism in Palestine, Syria and Kashmir.

The joint declaration appealed to the religious and political leadership to unite against the enemies of Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah, urging the government to take up Chahbahar Port issue with the Iranian government.

It hailed services of the Pakistan armed forces in annihilating menace of terrorism and extremism while the visiting delegates and representatives of different Islamic countries presented a memento to the Pakistan armed forces.
