CM confident of forming PTI govt in KP again

NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said on Friday the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would sweep the next general election because of the government performance and assume power again in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He was talking to the media after several political workers met him and announced joining the PTI.

Sohail Khattak, Jan Mast Khattak, Zahid Hayat, Nasir Ali from Akora Khattak and Khandar Union Council joined the PTI on the occasion along with family members, friends and supporters.

Sheraz Qureshi, Abdul Wahab Qureshi, Shahbaz Qureshi, Ismail Qureshi, Danyal Qureshi, Syed Musadiq Ali and Mehran Ahmad from Akora Khattak announced joining the PTI on the occasion.

Ilyas Khan, Raees Khan, Nasir Khan, Ibrahim Khan, Niaz Khan, Gul Bacha, Ali Akbar, Ali Shah, Fida Muhammad,Bahramand and other quit Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP) and joined the PTI. They hailed from the Khandar Union Council.

The chief minister welcomed the new entrants to the party and thanked them for reposing confidence in the PTI and the leadership of the party.

Talking on the occasion, Pervez Khattak said the PTI introduced a change both in politics and governance after forming government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“We put an end to the politics of hollow slogans and false promises. The PTI government implemented the party manifesto and delivered,” he pointed out.

The chief minister said the people were politically aware and they cannot be deceived through various catchy slogans.

Pervez Khattak said the PPP cheated the masses in the name of roti, kapra aur makaan. “Those who practised politics in the name of Pakhtun nationalism filled own coffers while the parties which raised the slogan of religion did nothing practical,” he said while alluding to ANP and Muttahida Majls-e-Amal governments.

Recalling the initial governance difficulties faced by the PTI government in the province, the chief minister said that we inherited a shattered infrastructure. “The Health and Education sectors were in a shambles,” he went on to add.

The chief minister said that instead of constructing new hospitals and schools, the PTI government started providing requisite facilities to the existing structures which was a better step.

Pervez Khattak said that the provincial government made a substantial increase in the Health budget. “There were 3000 doctors then and the tally now stands at 8,000. The doctors salaries were increased even by Rs 200,000,” he explained.

Of the Education sector, the chief minister said that 20,000 primary schools out of total 28,000 were provided facilities. “Up to 80,000 teachers were recruited through a transparent process purely on merit,” he pointed out.

The chief minister said that 80,000 teachers were properly trained to build their capacity and teaching of English was made compulsory in the state-run schools in effort to end discriminatory education system which had been prevalent since long.
