Minor’s rapist, murderer held

KARACHI: The District West police on Friday arrested the prime suspect in the rape and murder case of six-year-old Rabia Baqa Muhammad, The News has learnt.

Rabia had gone missing from her house in Orangi Town’s Baloch Goth on Sunday afternoon. Her body was found in the Khairabad forest in Manghopir the next day. On the complaint of her grandfather, the Manghopir police registered a case against his neighbours Raheem Kareem Bakhsh, Faqeer Muhammad and Fazal Ghulam Rasool. Bakhsh and Rasool have already been arrested.

Sources told The News that Muhammad the prime suspect has also been arrested. However, no police official has confirmed the arrest. Muhammad has admitted to kidnapping, raping and murdering the girl, added the sources.

The prime suspect has reportedly revealed that he had a personal dispute with the girl’s father and wanted to take revenge on him. According to the sources, the Orangi Town police had earlier booked the suspect on the court’s orders for threatening a woman.
