PESHAWAR: Former Minister for Education Iftikhar Mohmand joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday.
Speaking at a press conference here, the former lawmaker said that he along with his supporters joined the PTI due to his strong belief that the party's leadership has the ability to resolve the problems facing the country and the nation.
He lauded Imran Khan's action against the 20 PTI members of the provincial assembly involved in horse-trading in the Senate election and said this would discourage other lawmakers from selling their votes in future.
"Imran Khan has the vision and courage to pull the country out of the prevailing crises," Iftikhar Mohmand maintained. He hoped the PTI would win the coming election and form the government both in the centre and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It was learnt that the PTI leadership was in contact with Iftikhar Mohmand, a former education minister belonging to the PML-N in Mardan, since sometime.
Iftikhar Mohmand was associated in the past with the PPP, ANP and different factions of the PML.
He belongs to Takht Bhai and has been winning and losing election from this area.
