Removal of encroachments from Sukkur parks ordered
SUKKUR: The District and Session Judge, Sukkur, has ordered removal of encroachments from all parks of the city.
The District and Sessions Judge, Sukkur, Amjad Ali Bohio, along with DC Sukkur Rahim Bakhash Maitlo, Deputy Mayor Sukkur Tarriq Chohan visited the various public parks of Sukkur, on the directions of the Sindh High Court. During the visit, he observed several encroachments in the parks and directed the deputy commissioner to get them removed.
While visiting the Manzil Gah ground, the judge ordered the authorities to get it vacated from the thread manufactures and restore it to its intended use. He also directed the DC and SSP Sukkur to remove encroachments from another playground. During visit to the SDM office, Sukkur, the judge noticed a park which was converted into a parking area. He ordered the Municipal Officer to restore the park.
Amjad Ali Bohio also inspected the Johar Park and took notice over the establishment of mayor’s office there. He took up the matter with the deputy mayor and ordered him to fix responsibility.
While visiting the Ladies and Children Park, he took notice of establishment of a restaurant there. The district and sessions judge reprimanded the authorities for the park’s encroachment despite cancellation of the restaurant’s allotment. He directed the authorities to submit a comprehensive report.
Later, he visited the Municipal Stadium, Sukkur, and observed use of substandard material in construction of a water tank and ordered its demolition and reconstruction. He also ordered cancellation of the contractor’s license.
