HEC, IU organise swim meet
ISLAMABAD: The two-day All Pakistan Inter-Varsity Swimming Championship jointly organised by Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Iqra University (IU) concluded here at Pakistan Sports Complex Sunday, says a press release.
Men and women teams from different universities across the country participated in the swimming competitions. In the championship, 19 events were contested out of which 16 events were individual.
A total of 13 teams comprising more than 80 players participated in the championship.In the women competitions, the winners were Agha Khan University while runners-up trophy went to FC College University Lahore and LUMS clinched third position.
University of Central Punjab (UCP) were the winners of men’s event and GCU Lahore grabbed runners-up trophy while Punjab University got third position.Muzayyan of Agha Khan University was declared the best female swimmer while the best male swimmer award went to Waseem Khan (UCP). Prizes and shields were distributed among the position-holders at the closing ceremony.
