LAHORE: A rape attempt on a minor girl was reported in Batapur area here on Monday. The girl’s grandmother in a complaint to police said: “On April 15, her granddaughter was playing outside her house. Suspect Umair grabbed the hand of her granddaughter and forcefully took her to a nearby Haveli (outhouse). On seeing the family members, the accused fled.” Police registered a case and transferred it to Anti-Violence against Gender Cell.
