No intention to quit PPP: leader
PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)’s former provincial President Anwar Saifullah Khan said on Saturday that he has no intention to quit the party despite having some concern with regard to the party’s affairs,
In a brief statement from London, he said that he had conveyed his reservations personally to his party chairman, co-chairman and Faryal Talpur, but had no intention to end his association with the PPP.
He said he would continue to raise voice for the welfare and prosperity of the party workers and the people.
Meanwhile, Anwar Saifullah’s brother Salim Saifullah Khan will address a joint press conference with Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at the Chief Minister’s House today at 4 pm.
He will be accompanied by the elders of Marwat tribe, youngsters from his family and local elected representatives to announce an alliance with the PTI.
Salim Saifullah, Hisham Inamullah Khan, Jehangir Saifullah Khan, Abbas Saifullah Khan, Asad Saifullah Khan and former MNA Ghulamuddin Marwat are some of the prominent persons in the 60-member delegation that will meet Pervez Khattak.
A member of the delegation told The News that Anwar Saifullah was a PPP leader while Salim Saifullah was going to make an alliance with the PTI.
He quoted their third brother Humayun Saifullah Khan as saying that he would follow in the footsteps of his brothers if they took a unanimous decision.
He quoted Humayun Saifullah as saying: “Whatever decision my brothers jointly take, I will follow them but in the prevailing situation I cannot sit with anyone.” It seems the Saifullah family, which belongs to Lakki Marwat and has played a prominent role in politics, is confused and divided while deciding its future line of action
Since Saifullah brothers have close relations with all political parties and leaders, both Anwar Saifullah and Salim Saifullah have been in contact with the PML-N and PTI.
