LAHORE: Student federation and social activists gathered in front of the Lahore Press Club Friday to mark the first death anniversary of Mashal Khan.
Mashal Khan, a student of Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, was lynched by a mob on alleged blasphemy charges in April last year. The lynching took place within the premises of the university and was caught on video which later circulated on social media.
The horrific incident shocked the nation and sparked a debate over the misuse of the blasphemy laws in Pakistan. Talking to The News Zia Ullah Hamdard, Mashal’s teacher, said my Mashal has gone. No one can bring him back.
