Security for Sikh yatrees

Lahore: Stringent measures have been taken by Pakistan Railways Police to ensure security to the Sikh Yatrees arriving in Pakistan today via Wagah Border to attend the activities of Baisakhi Festival.

To facilitate the Sikh Yatrees, Pakistan Railways has arranged three special trains. On the directives of Railways Police IG Doctor Mujeeb ur Rahman Khan, special security arrangements have been made by the police.

Maximum possible staff under one DSP has been deployed in each train to protect the Yatrees. Commandos have also been deployed. Beside this, strict security measures have also been taken at Wagah, Lahore, Nankana Sahib and Hassan Abdal. Railways Police Bomb Disposal staff has been directed to search all the trains and platforms.

Railway Police have been directed to keep a close liaison with the district police. To monitor the movement of the special trains of Yatrees, a control room has been established at Central Police Office of Railways, Lahore.
