Imran voted PPP for Senate
MIRPUR MATEHLO: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan "voted for our candidate for deputy Senate chairman, despite saying he will not, adding he will also support our party in future."
Addressing the media here on Friday, Bilawal said Karachi's mayor and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation are under the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. The MQM leaders are now fighting amongst each other and not doing any work nor letting anyone else do so, he added. He said everyone knows who is behind the politics of violence in Karachi and it is the first time after many years that the people of the city will be independent to elect candidates of their own choice. He said "I am also preparing for elections and will contest against all parties," Bilawal added.
He further alleged that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is harming democracy to cover his faults. However, he said, there is not threat to democracy. All Nawaz Sharif wants is to save himself, he added. Regarding the government's amnesty scheme, Bilawal said it seems like a Panama amnesty scheme, introduced to save themselves.
Addressing the party workers at the residence of PPP MPA Ali Nawaz Mahar in Ghotki, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said their opponents are benefiting the rich by introducing tax amnesty schemes and exempting them from giving taxes and paying debts. Bilawal alleged the government is handing over the state-owned companies like the Pakistan International Airline and the Pakistan Steel to their close aides. Stating that the PPP has always worked for the poor, Bilawal said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto took land from the feudal lords and gave it to the poor. He said the PPP initiated the Benazir Income Support Programme to help poor women, but some forces are trying to snatch their rights by ending the programme. -
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan claimed Friday night that the people of Sindh had shown they were ready for change and for standing with his party in its fight against corruption.
“The people of Sindh have shown they are ready for change and standing with PTI in our fight against corruption. Today across Hyderabad, there are junooni crowds at all our membership camps,” he said in his messages on social media.
Imran noted, “Some more of our membership camps around Hyderabad as wherever I went, I was welcomed by crowds ready to fight for justice and against the Zardari mafia in Sindh.”
