Departmental teams keen to feature in National Soccer
LAHORE: A number of departmental clubs have approached the Pakistan Football Federation for induction of their teams in the National Challenge Cup Football Tournament 2018, which the PFF finds it very encouraging aspect.
The PFF, after assuming the charge of FIFA house after three years litigation, recently announced the resumption of national and international activities of Pakistan football teams of both genders.
According to the schedule planned by the PFF, the National Challenge Cup 2018 will be staged in Karachi from April 20 to May 10 in which 24 top teams of the country are expected to take part.
PFF secretary Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi informed The News that Pakistan State Life Insurance, Asia Ghee Mills and Shama Banaspati have approached them for registration of their teams for cup.
PFF President Faisal Saleh Hayat believes that the increasing interest of various teams to take part in national tournament is quite encouraging. “National Challenge Cup will not only be an opportunity for the players to showcase their talent but it will also help the PFF through the formation of a technical study group spot new talent for the national teams for the forthcoming international events,” he added.
