FAISALABAD: The body of Abida, student at the Government College University Faisalabad, was recovered from Jaranwala on Thursday.
Abdia, student of MA English, was abducted by unidentified culprits at gunpoint when she was waiting for public transport to go home, five days ago.
When she did not return home, her parents had filed a complaint with the Gulberg police station for registration of abduction case but SHO Basharat Ali did not register the kidnapping case. CPO Athar Ismail has suspended the Basharat Ali and directed the SP Gulberg area to start inquiry against him for this sheer negligence.
According to Geo News, the initial postmortem report revealed that she had been raped before her death. The body also bore marks of torture, said the authorities.
According to her family, she was a hardworking student and had recently won a laptop under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme.
