Afghan transporters want border restrictions relaxed
LANDIKOTAL: The transporters and traders belonging to Afghanistan have urged Pakistan to relax the restriction at Torkham border crossing for smooth export and import activities.
Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, Afghan transporters’ union leaders Qasim, Malik Muhammad Nazeer and others said the trade between Afghanistan and Pakistan had dropped to the lowest level due to the restrictions at Torkham border.
Qasim said most of the Afghan and some Pakistani businessmen had shifted their offices to Gulf and other countries due to the restricted border policy between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
“Our enemies want to create rift between Pakistani and Afghan nationals. We have to build trust and foil the nefarious designs of the enemies,” said Qasim.
