Light doesn’t fall right under the lamp — the case of cricket scorers

KARACHI: Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been advantageous for many but the match scorers, who play an important role, are yet to benefit from HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Four scorers in Karachi, some having experience of about a quarter of a century, have been given their first task in three years.Talking to this reporter before the final, a scorer at National Stadium said that it has been his first assignment in PSL in three years.

PSL has rightly been given credit for bringing to fore talented players, but the Karachi-based scorers, who have given their lives to the game of cricket, have not got their due share. According to a source, PCB has been unable to hire its scorers for PSL because provision of scorers was a part of PCB’s contract for grounds in the UAE.
