PESHAWAR: Consul General of Iran Muhammad Baqir Begi on Thursday said that journalists and columnists could play a vital role in boosting of brotherly relations between the two countries.
Speaking at a reception for the members and office-bearers of Abseen Column Writers Association here, the diplomat said the exchange of delegations of religious, cultural and journalists between the two neighbouring countries would help strengthen the bilateral relations.
President of the Abseen Column Writers Association Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, senior vice-president Professor Sabeeh Ahmad, deputy president Saleem Afaqi, deputy president women wing Rani Bano, general secretary Abid Akhtar Hussain and others attended the reception.
Baqir Begi said the media was the fourth pillar of any country and could play an important role in strengthening and boosting the bilateral relations between different countries.
Ziaul Haq Sarhadi thanked the consul general of Iran for holding the reception for the columnists.
