IIU president, Senate chairman discuss cooperation in education

Islamabad: International Islamic University President Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh on Thursday called on Senate Chairman Mir Sadiq Khan Sanjrani and congratulated him on his election.

The IIU president expressed the hope that under the leadership of Mir Sadiq, the Senate would play a more vital role to further strengthen the democratic institutions of the country. He also briefed the Senate chairman about the IIU activities especially the initiatives for the promotion of peace.

Former deputy speaker of Bahrain Parliament Shaikh Adil Al-Muawida and CEO of Pakistan Guarantee Export Corporation Mian Mehmood and senior vice president Muhammad Hassan Kamli were also present in the meeting.

Earlier, Shaikh Adil called on IIU Rector Dr. Masoom Yasinzai and IIU President Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh where mutual cooperation in the field of education was discussed. Both sides agreed that there was enough room for exchange of delegation and experiences between IIUI and educational institutions of Bahrain.

Shaikh Adil said on the occasion that Muslim world universities would have to sit on a platform together to discuss the leading issues being faced by Muslims. He promised the IIU management every possible support in this regard.

The IIU rector said tolerant minds nurtured in the light of real Islam which is all about peace can resolve the issues and same is the vision of the IIU. He said the IIU had offered the human resources courses and educational facilities to Muslim countries like Niger and Kenya, where the people needed to know the true message of Islam.

Dr. Al-Draiweesh introduced guests to the IIU staff members and briefed them about faculties, constituent units and latest collaborations for moderation, peaceful co-existence. IIU Vice President Dr. Muhammad Munir was also present in the meeting.
