PESHAWAR: The Soil Science Society of Pakistan awarded Vice-Chancellor CECOS University Professor Dr Riaz A Khattak with the prestigious Fellowship Award on Tuesday.
Dr Riaz A Khattak received the award during the inaugural session of 17th International Congress of Soil Science in Faisalabad, said a press release.
He is a renowned international soil scientist and academician, having over 40 years’ experience in teaching, research and higher education management.
Dr Riaz A Khattak has served as chairman, dean and as a Meritorious Professor (BS-22) in Soil Sciences.
The academician enjoys an excellent academic profile with PhD/Post Doctorate from University of California.
He has made significant contributions in the field of soil and environmental sciences, having over 157 publications, book chapters, research projects, reports and has produced 126 M.Sc./Ph.D students.
Dr Riaz A Khattak is a recipient of HEC Best University Teacher award, Eminent Scientist, MOST award, Gold Medal and Presidential award.
He served as President Soil Science Society of Pakistan, Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry, Cambridge (UK) member of ASA, SSSA, CSA, SSSP and Member International Advisory Board on Environment, South Korea. Currently, he is serving as Vice-Chancellor, CECOS University.
