Islamabad: We live in a society where rise in violence and stereotypical norms are deteriorating emotional well being of an individual and society at large. In order to promote a message of tolerance and raise awareness on issues of emotional health, violence against women and children, Rozan an Islamabad based NGO, has organised a Spring Carnival in Islamabad today (Saturday) at Ilahi Farms. Fun for all the family!
The event aims to raise awareness on day-to-day emotional health issues and to generate funds for building ‘Rozan Ghar,’ a space for empowerment. This event will provide an opportunity to create awareness on social issues with a fun filled carnival on a peaceful, picturesque, hilltop farm. Activities to amuse people include pony cart ride, face painting, book stall, puppet show, petting zoo, trampoline and kite flying, live music and drum beats, delicious and homemade food stalls.
Since 1998 Rozan is working on the issues of violence against women and children. Rozan’s approach is holistic, and interventions are framed from a prevention (awareness-raising, mobilisation, skills-building), protection (law enforcement, service delivery, and advocacy) perspective. Emotional and mental health is an essential service that Rozan provides.
