HAFIZABAD: City police along with Railways police arrested 16 illegal Afghans, including 15 children, near the general bus stand on Wednesday. Hayatullah, an Afghan, along with 15 children was travelling by Pakistan Express from Rohri to Rawalpindi. At the Hafizabad Railway Station, Hayatullah along with the children alighted from the train and went to the bus stand. To it, Railways police got suspicious. On information, City police rushed to the spot and they along with Railways police arrested Hayatullah, Javed, Gul Khan, Abdullah, Islam Khan, Usman Khan, Hadayatullah, Ismatullah, Zabtay Khan and others near the general bus stand as they failed to provide legal documents. However, police recovered railway tickets from Rohri to Rawalpindi from their possession. During preliminary interrogation, Hayatullah told police he brought the children from Haripur and wanted to smuggle them to the European countries. A case has been registered.
