BARA: The political administration on Wednesday dissolved peace committees of all tribes belonging to the Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency.
Speaking at a grand jirga of the Afridi tribes, Assistant Political Agent Bara Asmatullah Wazir said that the tenure of the peace committees had already completed.
“We will try to constitute new peace bodies as soon as possible. We will include sincere and trustworthy people from all tribes in the committees to serve the suffered tribespeople in a better way,” he said, adding, the peace bodies would help the political administration in solving the issues confronting the people.
He said the administration would select educated, young and active youth as members of the committees.
The APA warned the peace body member would be sent to jail for six months and Rs 200,000 fine imposed on him if he was found involved in corrupt practices.
