The Cultural Section of the Chinese Embassy successfully completed first-phase of promoting Pak-China food taste and martial art to Pakistani males and females during twelve training sessions held here at its office.
Special cooking classes were arranged in which a number of housewives participated. They were acquainted with the cooking-style and the taste of Chinese food and their similarity and difference as compare to the Pakistani food.
Similarly, martial-art classes were conducted for about two months. Both the programmes were highly successful and encouraged them to continue such programs even in future, said Li Hua, a senior official of the Culture Section of Chinese embassy. For this purpose, necessary work is already in progress to establish here Pak-China Culture Centre, he added. Cooking and martial art courses are aimed at promoting ‘people-to-people’ contacts between the two countries. More and more such activities will be arranged during 2015, which is being celebrated as a year of mutual exchanges between the two countries, he added.
Specialist of Chinese cooking Song Qing Wei and expert of martial art Bruce Yan were here for the last two months to conduct these classes. Special Chinese Culinary art helped us to know more about Chinese northern and southern cuisine, said Attia Qutab, secretary information of All-Pakistan China Friendship Association. The both classes were arranged in collaboration with the Association and the Chinese culture section. Over the years, the Association had been arranging variety of programmes to promote their heritage and cultural traditions in different fields, she added.
At the closing ceremony of the programmes, Zang Yingbao the Chinese Cultural Counsellor welcomed the ladies-participants and said, it was an honour for them to host such programmes, bringing the people of two countries more closer to each other through social and cultural activities. He said they will consider the demands of the female participants to arrange special training for them in Acupuncture.
