Minister takes notice of freight train derailment
LAHORE: Railways Minister Saad Rafique during a meeting Thursday took notice of derailment of freight train near Rahim Yar Khan and delay in relief operation.
Pakistan Railways CEO, GM Traffic, chief operating officer and other officials attended the meeting at the Railways Headquarters.
The minister along with other officials reviewed the restoration work in control room. On the instruction of minister, breakfast has been distributed among the passengers at the Lahore Railway Station.
It was also announced that passengers can claim half fare in case of delay/late more than 12 hours. After relief operation, timings of trains got better. The trains going from Lahore and Karachi run on time. Only Shalimar Express departure time was half hour late.
