Dharna group wasted nation’s time: Shahbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday said the PML-N government had worked selflessly for development public service during the last nine and a half years, but the “dharna group” could only waste the nation’s time.

Shahbaz was talking to Federal Minister for Human Rights Mumtaz Ahmed Tarar, MNA Moeen Wattoo and MPA Khalid Mehmood Cheema.

The chief minister said the masses were very well-aware of the fact that those pursuing negative politics had done nothing for the people in their province.

“The so-called torchbearers of the change have been exposed and the people

will reject their negative politics in the 2018 elections,” he added.

He said development of Punjab was known to everybody and had become identity of the PML-N government.

“The performance of the ‘dharna party’ in public service is zero and has remained limited to slogans, claims and si-ins only,” Shahbaz added.

Separately, PML-N leader Mushahid Hussain Sayed called on Shahbaz, said as they discussed matters related to political situation.

Mushahid said the PML-N government had the vision to put the country on the path to progress and prosperity.

Similarly, the chief minister, in a meeting with Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, said the current situation in the country required tolerance and patience.

On the other hand, Shahbaz, in a message, said condemned the unprovoked firing of the Indian force at the Nakyal sector of the Line of Control (LoC) and expressed grief over the death of a citizen.

Also on Saturday, the chief minister sought a report from the Punjab IGP on the rape and murder of minor girl in Dunyapur.
