External threats
At present, Pakistan is passing through a tough time. The US is trying to blame Pakistan for its failure in the Afghanistan war. In this longest war, the US has failed miserably to bring peace to Afghanistan. American officials are of the opinion that Pakistan supports terrorists. This assumption is totally uncalled for and baseless. The US has approached the FATF (Financial Action Task Force) to include Pakistan’s name in the list of terror financing countries. According to some media reports, out of the 35 permanent members of FATF, only China supports Pakistan. The rest of the 34 countries are likely to support the US resolution.
The unfortunate thing is that political leaders in Pakistan are also not united. The country has so many problems within. The need of the hour is national unity. All political leaders should come on the same page to negotiate external threats. Instead of blaming each other, Pakistan needs a strong and effective international campaign to defeat the US move against Pakistan.
