Abbasi, Shahbaz discuss NAB action against Ahad Cheema

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said Pakistan cannot tolerate confrontation and “we all will have to work for public welfare and national development”.

In a meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at Model Town on Friday, he discussed with him matters of mutual interest, political situation and party matters. Sources revealed that the matter of NAB’s action against Ahad Cheema also came under discussion.

The chief minister said the PML-N always followed the rule of law. He said the supremacy of law and Constitution would have to be ensured to move further and the government would carry on mission of public service and prosperity.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal called on Shahbaz Sharif. Different matters of mutual interest including steps taken for the eradication of terrorism and political issues came under discussion. Both the leaders expressed satisfaction over positive steps taken for bringing improvement in law and order in Punjab.

The CM said terrorism, fanaticism and sectarianism were not the fate of people and in a Pakistan of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, there was no room for such menaces. The Pakistani nation gave tremendous sacrifices in war against terrorism and its commitment and passion was much bigger than the challenge of terrorism. It was satisfying that the coordinated implementation of the national action plan broke the backbone of terrorists. He said Pakistan would be made heaven of peace by decisively defeating terrorism. Every person would have to play his role to maintain law and order in the country. He said the people of all provinces including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir would equally benefit from the CPEC.
