Nestlé partners with Seed Out
KARACHI: Nestlé Pakistan and Seed Out signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), focusing on promoting women entrepreneurs in semi-urban areas of Pakistan, a statement said on Friday. This is also in complete alignment with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), which focuses on ending poverty in all its forms by creating more ventures for employment generation, it added.
Under the agreement, Seed Out will take the initiative of setting up Nestlé’s “NESCAFÉDhaba project” in Muridke and Sadhoki. This will be a microfinance project sponsored by Nestlé Pakistan, which will help women set up Dhabas by giving them small loans, it said.
The repayment amount from the project will be put in the Nestlé Pakistan’s revolving fund and upon completion of the project, the amount will be used to raise new entrepreneurs; therefore, continuing relationship between Nestlé and Seed Out in the long-run, it added.
