ISLAMABAD: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has welcomed the statement of Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Haroon Akhtar Khan that the government would extend full support for the timely completion of the Thar coal projects, a statement said on Thursday.
FPCCI President Ghazanfar Bilour said that this will certainly add to the existing shortfall of energy requirements.
Businesses have been shut down due to high power and gas tariffs and completion of the coal projects would certainly provide relief to entrepreneurs in boosting production, he added.
In the past, no effort was made towards coal power projects to overcome energy shortage, while the present government’s interest in early completion of Thar coal project is commendable, Bilour said.
