Probe into Punjab Rural Roads Program begins

MULTAN: The National Accountability Bureau (Multan) has initiated a probe into the Punjab Rural Roads Program on corruption complaints and taken into custody the record of 20-km Hasilpur-Gujjar Chowk Road. The bureau has also summoned several officers related to the Multan Metro project today. Summons have been issued to former presidents Maula Bukhsh Abbasi and Saeed A Qazi and former senior vice presidents GA Alana and Sanaullah for illegal appointments in the National Bank of Pakistan.

According to sources, the NAB Multan has summoned today former chairman Planning and Development Board (PDB) Irfan Ilahi, former secretary PDB Arif Anwar Baloch, Chief Economist PDB Dr Khalid Mushtaq, Member Social Sector PDB Ijaz Hussain, Member PDB Dr Naveed Ahmed Chaudhry, Member Social Infrastructure PDB Bushra Awan, Chief Industries PDB Aslam Javed, Assistant Chief Coordinator PDB Ch Muhammad Ali Nazir, Member PDB Waqaruddin Butt, former senior chief transport PDB Sohail Akhtar Shahzad, Chief Technical PDB Khalid Javed, Secretary PDB Iftikhar Ali Sahv, former DC Multan Zahid Saleem Gondal, the commissioner PDB, the operation manager Sonehri Bank Karachi and the operation manager Habib Bank Lahore. The NAB has also summoned some top officers of the Multan Development Authority.
