Child abuse cases take place at Rawat Fort
Islamabad: A union council chairman hailing from treasury benches during the session of the Municipal Corporation of Islamabad (MCI) made a startling revelation that incidents of sexual child abuse have been occurring at Rawat Fort.
The disclosure sent a wave of shock among members during the MCI session when Azhar Mahmood, Chairman Union Council Rawat of PML-N said he could say on oath that incidents of sexual child abuse take place at Rawat Fort. "You are talking about renovation of public parks, I can swear that incidents of child abuse take place at Rawat Fort and various public parks of the federal capital," Azhar Mahmood while addressing the mayor said.
He said that most of the child abuse cases occur in parks where condition of parks had deteriorated over the years due to negligence on part of concerned authorities. Azhar Mahmood said such incidents have been happening for the last many years due to insufficient security arrangements at recreational facilities and parks saying he could also furnish proofs if required.
Islamabad Mayor said that letter would be addressed to law enforcement agencies to probe such incidents and take culprits to task. He said that proper security arrangements would also be made at public places.
