The number of child sex abuses cases is rapidly increasing. After the Zainab case, the relevant authorities have a debate on what should be done to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. It is unfortunate that we couldn’t come up with a sound strategy to deal with this social problem which has put the lives of our children in danger.
According to the data collected by various NGOs, around 11 cases of child sex abuse are reported from across Pakistan on a daily basis. It is believed there are still many cases that remain unreported. It is an unfortunate fact that perpetrators are present almost everywhere. Children are not safe at schools, madressahs and even at their homes. We need to acknowledge the problem and work hard to tackle it.
