Islamabad: ”Three-day inter-collegiate competitions were started at Islamabad Model College for Girls (Postgraduate), F-7/4.
The event are being organised under the auspices of College Students Council from February 12 to 14 at the college main hall. The events including ‘Qirat’ and ‘Naat’ recitations, English and Urdu debates, fine arts, computer graphics, dry and fresh flower arrangement, embroidery and cooking competitions, says a press release.
The faculty along with students enthusiastically participated in the competitions and appreciated the performance of the students of different college students. Dr Ali Asghar Chishti, dean faculty, Ahadits & Seerah, Allama Iqbal Open University was the chief guest of the occasion.
In ‘Qirat’ competition prizes awarded to Habiba Rehman (IMCG, G-10/4), Mehwish Shaheen (Postgraduate College Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi), Naghma Rukhsar (IMCG, I-8/3), & Hafza Mudasir ((Postgraduate College, Abid Majeed Road, Rawalpindi) as 1st, 2nd, 3rd respectively & consolation prizes.
In ‘Naat’ competition prizes awarded to Raffia (ICG’ F-6/2), Kainat Tariq (IMCG’ F-7/2), Marwa Sajjad (Postgraduate College, Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi) & Mahnoor Malik (Postgraduate Bilquees College, Rawalpindi) as 1st, 2nd 3rd respectively and consolation prize.
In Fresh Flower Arrangements, first prize awarded to Iqra Khalil (IMCG, F-7/4), Aleena (IMCG PG Margla, F-7/4), Shumaila Jabeen ((Postgraduate College, Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi) were awarded 2nd and 3rd prizes.
In Dry Flower Arrangements, among the prize winners were Syeda Hadia (IMCG Postgraduate, F-7/2), Quratul Ain (Postgraduate College, Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi), Iqra Majeed (IMCG, F-7/4) 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. A consolation prize given to Syed Laiba Hussain (IMCG, Postgraduate, F-7/4)
In Embroidery Competition, 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were given to Maham Chaudhry (Postgraduate College, Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi) Ghazala Azhar (IMCG, G-10/4), Ilsa Batool (IMCG, I-8/3) respectively. A consolation prize given to Amreena Fatima (IMCG, Postgraduate F-7/2).
In Cooking competition, 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were given to Marium Shahid (IMCG, F-10/2), Sidra Haroon (Postgraduate College, Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi) Afshan Afridi (ICG, F-6/2 ) respectively. Consolation prize given to Bushra Banaras (IMCG PG, F-7/4).
Among the judges of other competitions were Shazia Hameed, Samina Tariq and Adeela Shaheen. The college trophy given to the participants from Postgraduate College Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi on overall performance. In his address to audiences, the chief guest appreciated the students’ enthusiasm and eagerness in participation.
