Go Away Mr Tumor screened

Islamabad Pakistan National Council of the Arts China Cultural Centre screened feature film, Go Away Mr. Tumor at PNCA on Friday. The film was based on comic series by cartoonist Xiong Dun. It shows tragedies of life with a lighter touch. Our heroine suffering from a terminal disease plays the role with a difference. She remains hopeful of the future, trying to spend good time. Her tragedy is a source of inspiration for others around her.

The film is based on a true story of cartoonist who passed away in 2012 at the age of thirty.

Directed by Han Yan, Go Away Mr. Tumor was official nomination from China for Best Foreign Film Academy Award(Oscar). It is rich with impressive production effects, notwithstanding its average budget. The highlight of the film remains its bubbly heroine and she remains a trademark of the film from beginning to the end. Her warm performance attracts the film goers all the way. She brings up a story of struggle with style, gloss and fantasy The film made close to million dollars at the box office. It may be of interest to note that the heroine has played the tragic roles before in A Wedding Invitation and The Stolen Years. Part two of documentary series Chinese Architecture was also screened before the feature film. It brings out effective aesthetic perception and cultural traditions of a country and nation.
