While driving on Mall Road near the Military Hospital Rawalpindi, one can see people desperately crossing the road during rush hours. Although two speed breakers (steel bricks) are installed there to slow down the traffic flow and allow people to cross the road, it seems this has failed to effectively address the problem.
The reason is that the majority of people who visit the hospital are patients and therefore they cannot cross the road easily. Their problems are compounded when people sitting behind the wheel are also in a hurry. Some of the drivers are so insensitive that they do not slow down their vehicles even at the speed bumps. The authorities concerned are requested to install a pedestrian bridge to mitigate the suffering of thousands of patients/people who visit the hospital daily.
