Nehal Hashmi shifted to hospital
RAWALPINDI: Nehal Hashmi, who was sentenced to one-month imprisonment in a contempt of court case, was shifted to Adiala Jail Hospital after complaining of chest pain on Friday. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader spent a night in a prisoner’s barrack but after chest pain he was shifted to hospital in Adiala Jail. According to Adiala Jail authorities, they have shifted Nehal Hashmi to hospital due to his health condition. His health was fine till Friday afternoon but suddenly he complained about chest pain, the jail authorities said. Nehal Hashmi was shifted to prison after he was sentenced to one-month imprisonment by the Supreme Court in the contempt of court case. He was also fined Rs50,000 and disqualified from holding public office for a period of five years. In case of failure to pay the fine, an additional one-month imprisonment will be added to his sentence. The Supreme Court had served Nehal Hashmi with a contempt notice following a speech from May 31 in which he had issued threats indirectly to judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
