New Akbari Gate police station inaugurated

LAHORE: CCPO Muhammad Amin Wains has inaugurated new building of Akbari Gate Police Station.

The CCPO said police station is the sign of protection to provide justice to people and worst for criminals. If elected representatives cooperate with local police then we can build a new picture of changed “Thana Culture”.

Petty issues of the area can be solved by Alternate Dispute Resolution but this is not possible without the help of local respectable people and elected representatives, he added. Youth shot dead: A 30-year-old man was gunned down in Misri Shah over a monetary issue here on Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Naeem of Usman Gunj Misri Shah. The victim was sitting at his rent-a-bike shop when accused Feeza along with his accomplices shot at and injured him. He was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. Body was shifted to morgue for autopsy.

BODY FOUND: A 24-year-old youth was found dead in a plot in Shadbagh. After having examined the body, the police found that the victim had suffered a fatal skull fracture. Police suspected that the victim yet to be identified had been beaten up with an iron rode. Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy.

BURNS: A boy sustains burns when a fire broke out in his house in Shalimar area. Cause of the fire was said to be short circuit. Upon being informed, firefighters and rescuers rushed the scene, extinguished fire and shifted the injured youth identified as Zaheer Abbas to a local hospital where his condition was said to be out of danger.

FOUND DEAD: A young eunuch was found dead in his flat in Garden Town area. The deceased was identified as Munawar alias Meera. Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.

ACCIDENTS: Over 700 road crashes were reported in Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which five lives were lost and 466 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant districts and tehsils. Some 323 victims who sustained minor injuries were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid by Emergency Medical Teams.

SHOPS: An expatriate Pakistani has got back possession of his two shops worth Rs 5 million with the efforts of Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab.

Vice Chairperson, OPC, Shaheen Khalid Butt and Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti said Liaqat Ali settled in Kuwait filed a complaint that his nephew has forcefully occupied his two shops in Kot Abdul Malik. Shaheen Khalid Butt and Afzaal Bhatti said the complaint was referred to District Overseas Pakistanis Committee (DOPC), Sheikhupura for further proceedings. The members of DOPC made hectic efforts and got the said shops vacated and handed over to original owner.

quack clinics sealed: The Punjab Healthcare Commission has closed down 25 clinics of quacks during the last two days.

The sealed clinics included 11 general quacks, five fake dentists, seven bone-setters and two hakeems located at Chungi Amar Sadhu, Nishtar Colony, Sirajpura, Township, Multan Road and Hanjarwal.
